I heard sounds and voices coming inside my room. I opened my eyes and what I saw was the clock ringing.<< Not again >> I said, I had to get ready for school but I wasn’t in a good mood . I thought this was the worst time of the day but this was only the beginning. I went to catch the school bus  and in some meters away the bus stopped.

I didn’t know why but the driver told us to don’t come down. Then panic came in the bus because some kids heard weird noises. I ran away with some friends and we saw some soldiers shooting at something we couldn’t see. We ran as fast as we could but then I don’t know why I fainted. Then I woke up in a shelter. I still don’t know what happened………..

The Moving

Chapter 1

Well, my grandma Sophia is the kind of old, traditional, classic granny with white, shoulder-length hair, who loves cooking sweets, looking at her old photo albums and telling us stories, while drinking a cup of hot tea, next to the fireplace. Sundays is the only day of the week about which I'm excited the most because we spend it solely together. Her house is like it has eluded modern times, and is straight from a 18th century tale. It's a small, stony cottage with a garden that is huge, compared to the size of the house, with trees full of blossoms but isolated from the other houses in the area.

So, last Sunday, I visited her as I usually do. My mum drove me because no means of public transport are available in this place; there aren't enough residents, and the mayoress thought it wasn't worth sending an application to the council and requesting an increase in transportation. I still wonder why she garnered so many votes in the last election. After 3 hours driving, my grandma was waiting impatiently for me outside her house, ready to give me lots of hugs and kisses. Everything was always so calm and relaxed in this place. Birds were singing, flowers scented the atmosphere with their redolence; everything was absolutely perfect. My mum left, so we went inside the cottage and I sat on the big, comfy couch next to the fireplace, a huge window that brightening the whole room, while granny brought my favourite snack; homemade cookies with her delicious lemonade. After devouring a couple of them and sipping some of the cooling lemonade, I asked grandma, " Are you going to tell me a story, as you customarily do?". She was looking at me with a smiley face but suddenly, her facial expression changed and a bleak darkness replaced her happiness. I was greatly worried by this rapid change, but while I was thinking this, she told me,

"Today is going to be a little different for both of us. I'll tell you a true story that happened to me lots of years ago, when I was younger than you and it has remained etched on my mind all these years; to be honest, I'm not sure if it is ever going to fade. But please, pledge me that you will never, ever tell anything to anybody".

After listening to her, I was really shocked. What kind of story was this? And why didn't she want me to tell anybody about it?

'Of course, I won't say anything if you don't want me to',  I answered and at the same time, an avalanche of questions and thoughts were crossing my mind.

'It was October 1930 when it all happened..

Chapter 2

It was October 1930 when it all happened. I was about 10 years old and Martha, my younger sister, was 5. Our family has been moving houses very often because dad didn't have a permanent job. He wasn't an expert on a particular subject; he was doing anything just to earn a living for us. However, this year, it was really difficult to find one as more than 2 million people in our country were unemployed. So we moved to Kent, where some friends of ours were living. This couple wanted a better quality of life, with more facilities that the city could provide, so they rented the whole farm to us and left for a better future. Even though it cost a lot, dad thought that it was a good idea to live there and we had to take advantage of it.

The new house in the farm was spacious and had vintage decoration. The colourful wallpaper, the wooden furniture and the manifold paintings made you feel like you weren’t in a farm but in a classy, aristocratic house. While exploring the house, we heard the door knocking. Excited as I was, I went rapidly to open it. An unknown woman appeared in front of me and gave me the kind of goosebumps I had never felt before. She was at her forties, with short brown hair, pale skin and she was wearing a short-sleeved, white, way-too-formal dress.

"May I come inside?", she asked.

I didn't know how to answer as both my parents were exploring the barn and only Martha and I were at home

"Don't you remember me Sophia? Me and your parents have been very good friends many years now", she added.

"I'm sorry, but I don't. I'm going to tell them that you're here. What's your name, Miss?"

"I'm Miss Thompson, but you can call me Miss Jane".

"Ok Miss Jane. I'm coming back soon."

I left the weird visitor waiting in the living room with Martha keeping her company and I went to the barn so as to inform my parents about Miss Thompson. On my way to the stall, I put my thinking cap on to try and recognise the woman. When I reached the stall, nobody was there. A feeling of anxiety, fear and agony overcame me. Where might they have gone? I went back home, in case they were there and I hadn't see them. It had started getting late and the dark sky made it more difficult for me to go outside. Back at home, there were no lights on and I started shouting, but vainly. Nobody was answering.  Suddenly, I realised something. There was one, particular painting which portraid a woman that was alike miss Jane, outside from her house which was our house now.

I have never felt fear like that in my entire life. My family was missing and I was in a remote house with a woman who didn't seem friendly at all. The woman then appeared in front of me, pendulous, with her white dress covered in blood and holding my family's heads in both of her hands.

"It's your turn, isn't it?" she asked, opening her mouth wide and screaming with a loud voice. What I did then was the stupidest thing anyone could do in the whole world and I still regret it. I burst into tears and I started running into the night as fast as I could. After a few minutes, I was out of breath and stopped, realising that luckily, she hadn't chased me and that I was almost in the city.

I had left my family alone, I hadn't even tried to do something to help them. They might not have been dead……. . I just didn't want to think about it. I would die with these regrets.

Chapter 3

When I went back home, I couldn't stop thinking about grandma's story. It was just so unbelievable……..   But at the same time, I had mixed feelings for granny. Before I left her cottage, she reminded me of my promise and the last thing she told me was: " I'd like you to inform anybody out there about this event, but, after I’m dead. You can even write a book about it".

So that's what I’ve done…….

The Haunted House

(CAUTION:To understand this story you must pay close attention, so keep your eyes open.)

It was Halloween night. Two friends had decided to spend the night in an abandoned house, just outside the city they lived in. The house belonged to a famous harp player that had died in an accident.

They put there blankets on the ground floor, and decided to sleep there. They put on some music but, without realising, they fell asleep. At around 3 p.m., one of the friends, woke up to a harp playing. He ignored it and he just fell asleep again.

Jason the Killer by Mike Pipinis C1 NEON, Aegina

In Summer, I was at Camp Crystal Lake and the date was Friday the 13th. We were sitting round the fire. Suddenly, we heard a noise. It was Jason! We all ran away and Jason was chasing us. Me and my friend went into a wooden house where we found a shotgun and we ran away. Jason saw us and my friend and I got separated. I was running and running……….

After some time, I found a car and I left the camp. I was scared! I thought Jason was there because I knew that a long time ago, when Jason was a kid, some other kids were bullying him. When he died, his spirit wanted to take revenge and he became a killer. This experience haunted my dreams.

Then, Jason became a character in a movie. I want to have a same experience again! When  I read the news and I saw my friend in a photo, I understood he'd survived but all the other people at the camp were killed by Jason.

New friends by Elizabeth Neon Aegina

The Miller family are taking their first trip to Pitch Dark Falls to meet with the local real estate agent, Harry Jones, and see their new home, which they inherited from their dead great uncle. Amanda and Josh Miller, and their dog Bonnie, immediately sense that something is not quite right. Despite the fact that it is the middle of July, the entire neighbourhood seems covered in an artificial darkness created by the shadows of massive tree limbs. Dead brown leaves, shade and shadows are everywhere. Then there is the creepy old house, that appears to have been built many years ago. It is an enormous, dark, antique home with two large windows on the second floor that look awkwardly like a pair of dark eyes staring down at the street below.

While Josh proceed with impatience to start a protest over the family move and how tragic it is for him, Mr. Jones welcomes the family into the home. While exploring her new room, Amanda watches with amazement as she catches a glimpse of a boy standing in the doorway, before quickly disappear down the hall. Amanda feels much better after seeing her bedroom. She went outside to tell Josh about it, but both he and Bonnie are gone. Mr. Jones offers to give some directions while the family drive around town to find the missing members of the family. On the way Amanda finds it strange that there aren't any people in the houses or yards, or even on the street. Eventually they find Josh trying to catch Bonnie among the gravestones of the Pitch Dark Falls cemetery. The kids' father Mike end up catching Bonnie and putting on her a leash. Then the family went Mr. Jones at his real estate office in Pitch Dark Falls, where he mentions to the Millers that they can come back the following week to finish the contracts for the house. After their crazy first visit, the Millers family leave Pitch Dark Falls and head back home to their old neighbourhood.

It is a ‪Friday night‬ and Amanda's best friend Abby comes over for the family's last night in their old house, telling Amanda that Pitch Dark Falls is only four hours away and that it's not like she’s moving to China. The following morning is moving day, and it's a rainy, windy day in Pitch Dark Falls, where the family is going to live from now on.

For days, Amanda keeps seeing other children inside her house and hearing strange noises. Thankfully, she’s made friends easily but they are a little bit different than the friends she used to have. Later on, she finds out that all of her friends are actually dead; they had been murdered when they were living at her house. Once a year, they must have the blood from a freshly-killed person to sustain their living dead existence for another year. Amanda tried to warn her parents but they didn’t listen to her. Suddenly, one of her undead friends, Ray, attacks Amanda in the cemetery, while her brother, Josh, is still out looking for their ever-missing dog. Josh manages to save her at the last moment, when he shines the torchlight in Ray’s face, who becomes a pile of bones. Amanda and Josh run home but when they arrive, they are attacked by the dead children, who explain to them that there was no dead great uncle and that the letter sent to their parents was a trick to bring the Millers to Pitch Dark Falls. Suddenly, Mr. Jones, the real estate agent, appears on the door and the dead children vanish. He tells them that he has already saved their parents from the dead youngsters and that he will take them to join their parents. As they are going to find their parents, they pass through the cemetery and Amanda notices a gravestone with Mr. Jones name on it. Immediately, they understand that he is also dead. Amanda and Josh manage to escape Mr. Jones after Josh hits him on the head with his flashlight. It turns out the dead children are zombies that crumble under light. Then Amanda ,with the help of her brother, knocks down a tree to kill all of the living dead. Their parents see everything from an abandoned house where they had been held as hostages. The next morning, their new house stands empty as they head back to their old house where they are certain that they will be safe and sound.

As the family are leaving the dead house, they meet a new family on the driveway, coming to move in to the house. Someone all too familiar is there, and Amanda is sure it's Mr. Jones.

Halloween

It was the day of Halloween. All the kids were on the roads and I was almost ready to go. I got out, I visited a lot of houses and I got to the last one on the neighbourhood. They were saying that this house was haunted and it had ghosts but I got in there. I pressed the bell and the door opened and then: Boo! A ghost came out and take me in the house. There were lots of ghosts in the house laying around. I was scared and I closed my eyes and I was walking. They got me to their room and they killed me.
