It was just an peaceful night when my mother, my brother and I were just about to go to sleep. We were tired and had fallen asleep before my dad came home.

It was about 1:05a.m when I woke up from a loud banging on the door.  I was the only one who had woken up and I went to see who was at the door. Turns out that it was my father who had forgotten his keys, so I opened the door for him. He told me to go back to sleep because it was late and that's what I did.

Later that night, I woke up again. The time was 3:30a.m and someone was banging at the door again. When I checked through our spy hole, I couldn't see anyone so I went back to bed, thinking that it was just my imagination. Later on, I could still hear someone at the door, so I went to check again. This time, I saw something which wasn't really clear that gave me chills all the way down my spine. It looked like an alligator’s tail but with some dark brown hair and dark red spots that looked a bit like wounds. I then went to tell my dad that something was at the door but I couldn't find him anywhere. I panicked a bit and went to my mum but I couldn't find her either, or my brother. The first thing that came to my mind was a question  "Am I going to die?"  I thought that because it was night, I couldn't really think clearly, so I went to the kitchen to drink some water and wash my face to help me think better.

After that, the first thing that I did was to get a big frying pan for self defense and to check if I had internet or connection to make a call and luckily, I did but I could only message or call someone that did not live in Aegina. That's when I heard a really loud banging at the door and that's when I realised that the door had opened.

I got a strong lighter and put my phone in my pocket and slowly went to check all the rooms. As I walked through the hall, I could hear something running around my room,  but when I went in, I couldn't see anything . Suddenly, the door closed.  Quietly, I made the slowest moves that I could but it was too late. I passed out and woke up in a white room, laying on a bed. It was a hospital room.  I was alone when a nurse came in and started yelling but I couldn't understand what she was saying. My head hurt and my vision was a bit blurry. Then my family came in the room and started saying some stuff which I couldn't understand, followed by the police, who told my family to go out and wait. They asked the nurse if I was better and told me that they are now investigating the whole area near my house. Whatever that was there, had disappeared. Nobody could find anything about it so they told us that it was now gone. The real question though is…….is it really gone..?
